As after already featuring the ZX Spectrum game of 'Monster Mayhem' by Mananuk, along comes another game for the ZX Spectrum called ' Scary Things 2.0 ' by DF Design. A vertical scrolling Shoot 'em up previously released for Halloween in which you have to blast your way through a World of Horror hosted by an infamous film character. Super Star Wars - Holiday Special unofficially arrives on the Commodore Amiga as a port from the Sega Mega Drive
Although I'm personally not a fan of Star Wars (I blame my Ex :p). I've just found out through Earok however, that not only did the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis get a new homebrew release called 'Super Star Wars Holiday Special'. Which is an unofficial game from the cult-classic SNES Super Star Wars series, and loosely based on the outrageous The Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978. But as of today you can download the Commodore Amiga version, that's been ported over as the first public beta by Earok.
Schreckenstein 64 - A port of the fabulous Atari 800/XL exclusive game Schreckenstein by Peter Finze!
An early morning heads up for you all, as we've recently been informed that Rob Rafac has released the Atari XL/XE to Commodore 64 port of Schreckenstein. As in the words of the creator. "I have been working on a port of the fabulous Atari 800/XL-exclusive game Schreckenstein by Peter Finzel (not to be confused with the several C64 games with similar names), so I want to turn it loose on the community here". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video showing the game in action.
Golf Dash Extended - An updated 4k Craptastic C64 game from Megastyle
It's time for the C64 to get in on the new year fun, as we've recently found out through our emails, that Megastyle has released an updated 4k Craptastic C64 game called 'Golf Dash Extended'; A puzzle game in which you need to move a ball in the correct direction from wall to wall, until it reaches the hole. The less moves you do it in, the more constructive your judge will be towards you at the end of the game. If that doesn't make much sense, make sure to watch the video for a better explanation ;).
Dark Shadows of Sergoth - Custom maps to The Shadows of Sergoth ( Amiga )
If you have an Amstrad or Amiga near by, chances are you would've come across the excellent homebrew Dungeon Crawler ' The Shadows of Sergoth '; a game which blew many of us away with fast coded graphics, deadly monsters and cool loot to find throughout. Although the big boxed edition is no longer for sale, the publisher Double Sided Games has disappeared into the nether, and my boxed edition which was due never arrived :(, you can at least play these new levels, which have been added in by quantumcodemonk.

Thanks to Saberman contacting us late last night, we have been told that the developer HooGames2017, who created the awesome scorpion engine based game of Dr.Dangerous, has made available the brilliant Commodore Amiga game of 'Tiny Pixel Adventure'. A game in which the dev says "Welcome to the colorful and dangerous world of Tiny Pixel Adventure, a classic pixel retro game that will captivate you!". F-16 Falcon Strike - An updated flight simulator for the Atari XL/XE by Jarosław 'Roeoender' Wosik
I hardly ever feature flight simulators here on Indie Retro News. It's not as if I don't want to, but the chances of a developer releasing a new flight sim for a retro system is very rare. Today's news however is pretty special. As not only is it flight simulator related, but a creator by the name of Jarosław 'Roeoender' Wosik has released an update to his Atari XL/XE game of ' F-16 Falcon Strike '. As in his words "homage to the golden era of 80/90's computer combat flight simulators". To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of this rather cool game below.
Rintivoorh - As a prototype Amiga game, this looks pretty decent by UltraNarwhal [Update]
While I'm trying to avoid prototypes as half the time they never get finished, there was a couple of games entered into the AmiGameJam 2024 that caught my attention. One of those games in development by UltraNarwhal, who was also behind the charming Amiga platformer of Duckstroma. Has made available a prototype of an Amiga platformer called Rintivoorh. What makes this one pretty special however, is not only does it look pretty damn cool, but according to the developer "it's a prototype for 'The Sequel That Never Was' - What if there was a Hawkeye sequel?".
Donkey Kong - A famous 80's game has just got a rather awesome Arcade to ZX Spectrum AY conversion
In the early 80's Nintendo released one of the most famous games of all time, and that game was ' Donkey Kong '. A game in which you played as Mario that had to avoid obstacles across a number of platforms, with sometimes a hammer in hand to save a damsel in distress from a giant barrel throwing ape called Donkey Kong. That same game which also appeared as a more recent Arcade to Amiga conversion by JOTD, has just arrived as a pretty incredible Arcade clone to the ZX Spectrum by Artonapilos.

Pepper Buster - Pac-Man... A classic reinvented… with a spicy twist for the Amstrad CPC
Tetris isn't the only game that keeps appearing on IndieRetroNews, as according to both Saberman and Xenomorph, Crazy Piri has released the Pac-Man game with a twist for the Amstrad CPC, called 'Pepper Buster'. A game that doesn't just have all the dot chomping goodness you could want in a Pac-Man Arcade style game, but there's also explosive bonuses and penalties added in too!
