One of the best emulators for arcade games is MAME Plus! XT. There are loads of Mame versions out there, but this is my favorite, purely because it has the ability to use high end filters such as Supersai and Hq2x. MAME Plus! XT is also a variant of MAME Plus that adds additional features such as pcb (Printed Circuit Board) info, and xvid movie support. If you've got the roms and the bios files, you'll experience games such as Metal Slug in all it's HD glory, though we won't provide those sorry.
Above is what it looks like when the correct games are enabled and working, the latest released version of Mame Plus! XT is version v0.148u2 r5070, which came out today.
