I for one find Sunday's extremely boring so it's great to hear that Roberto Ricioppo has been hard at work at releasing even more SEUCK shooters for the C64. In fact he hasn't just released one C64 game this week but he has gone ahead and released FOUR! Each one is a shooter but varies differently in style, from a futuristic blaster in 'Across the Space One' to a wild west themed game in Matthew the 'Cowboy'.
The first game to show off is 'Experiment Traxter'; a game in which involves an experiment that has gone wrong and it's down to you to clean it up.
For what it's worth, Experiment Traxter is an ok game, although the enemies are varied and will keep you occupied for a time, I for one find the looping background extremely repetitive. What's more when you complete the level it starts again. Power ups or an in game tune could really have added to the re-playability but overall it's just an average release.

The next game in the listing is 'Matthew the Cowboy'; a C64 SEUCK shooter in which you play as a Sheriff called Matthew, who must stop at nothing to put an end to the Banditry that keeps ransacking your town. It wont be easy either, as bandits come at you at such a rate it's hard to stay alive! Add in the extra Indians and your job becomes almost impossible. Saying that though I did enjoy this game far more than Experiment Traxter, as the game play is non stop with plenty of challenges and re-playability.

Waiting for a game to load, try out the loading shooters while you wait!
The third game to play is Project YT-61, a game in which you need to protect your system from rogue defences. Unlike the previous titles, this isn't a side scrolling SEUCK shooter but a top down scrolling one. Furthermore the enemies are again varied that appear from the top and also as defences on the sides. Not a bad game this one but I'm not overly keen on the background.

Here we are at the final game by Roberto Ricioppo, it's 'Across the Space One'; a futuristic blaster that has you fighting against alien forces. This game I enjoyed the most, more so than the Wild West release. The rate of movement is much quicker, with smooth controls and plenty of bleeps and blobs coming from your firepower and the enemies attacking you from above. I especially liked the ship designs and the intro music to the game itself. The only crit I can say of this game, just like the others is more variations are needed in the backgrounds, rather than looping ones.

So have a great Sunday every one and enjoy these fun C64 games!
