Earlier this month, +Adam+ via the Atariage forums, announced a new work in progress conversion of the BBC Micro game ' Hobgoblin ' for the Atari XL/XE. Originally released for the Amstrad, BBC Micro, C64 and then a previous conversion (2008) to the Atari 8bit. ' Hobgoblin ' will now be known as ' Hobgoblin 2' and will feature all new in game graphics, new levels and possibly more. To coincide with this news, a work in progress footage tease has been released.
In regards to the original game, Hobgoblin is very much like Ghosts 'N Goblins, and also features a knightly fellow climbing and jumping through a landscape filled with evil beasts and monsters. The game is known for its high difficulty level, but with this latest tease, it looks to make the game even more appealing to the eye. If you've never seen the original 8bit version, you can view it below.
Currently we don't have a release date, but the development is still on going to be released this year!
- code: XXL
- title screen and ending screens, game logo, loading animation, the video: Jarek "Odyn1ec" Wyszyński
- in-game graphics, new level design: Adam Wachowski
- music: XLent, Michał "Caruso" Brzezicki, Michał "stRing" Radecki
