Spiritual Successor to Jetpac for the Sega Genesis announced

We were recently contacted by Federico Racedo of a brand new homebrew game that is coming to the Sega Genesis as a spiritual successor to Jetpac from the ZX Spectrum. Developed by a team of Uruguayans programmers, and using Basiegaxorz ( a Sega BASIC compiler ), you control a space warrior who must defeat waves of enemies while defending yourself from getting painfully hurt. And so far that is pretty much it, as there is not much else to say about the game at such an early stage other than a demo will be released soon.

To those of you who haven't heard of Jetpak before, it was a game released way back in 1983-4 by Ultimate Play the Game for the ZX Spectrum, VIC-20 and BBC Micro as the first instalment in the Jetman series. With Keyboard or Joystick in hand, you had to control Jetman to rebuild his rocket to explore different planets, which was usually filled with alien attackers. It was and still is a very good game and a highly recommended title to have if you have a ZX Spectrum. So it will be interesting to see how this spiritual successor turns out on the Sega Genesis.
