AmigaOS 3.1.4 & BestWB 1.0 - Amiga operating system release
Putting aside the games for the moment, we've just been told through our twitter page that both AmigaOS 3.1.4 and BestWB 1.0 have been released for the Commodore Amiga community. AmigaOS 3.1.4 is a fully updated and polished operating system for 68k machines, whereas BestWB 1.0 is a workbench pack as an enhancement/updated extension to AmigaOS 3.1.4 without those *ahem* hardware penalties.
AmigaOS 3.1.4 was originally intended as a bug-fix release, it also modernizes many system components previously upgraded in OS 3.9. The product according to them is based on 3.1 with many components more advanced than their OS 3.9 counterparts with more than 200 bugs fixed and far better support for large media integration. For those of you who want a more streamlined and lower requirements release check out the latest version of BestWB, as it suits anyone that wishes a clean AmigaOS experience without the unneeded hardware bloat often associated with these kind of distros.
