It's time to say THANKYOU EVERYONE, with a special give away. Indie Retro News has hit One Hundred Thousand Views, that's incredible for us. Indie Retro News was first designed in the early part of November and it was an idea I've had for many years of specific forum news postings. But through a set of planning and the goal to bring the best of Indie and Retro news to you the reader, the website was born.
This was the first design!
I've always had a love of retro games since I was 7 years old with the Amstrad CPC 464 and green screen, with such games as Dizzy, Green Beret and Dragons Lair. I then moved onto the Amiga 500 and played great games like The Settlers, Lemmings, Deuteros, Millenium 2.2 and many more. I did have the chance to try other systems like the Atari 2600, Snes and C64. There were many times that friends used to come over and play 2 player on the Amiga and the constant need to trade games at the local store. But it wasn't till I was much older, that I began to spend time on forums, posting the latest Indie and Retro news with pretty much every game that was to be released. However dealing with Trolls wasn't always the best experience.
So in that, the website was born, the conversations back and forth between new Indie and Retro developers and PR managers and the addition of great new staff members such as Danny and Rich, who put out some excellent articles. It became a new way of life, I can actually call myself a Games Journalist which does have a nice ring to it!
Indie Retro News will grow and grow, with more reviews to come and more Indie games to appear. We will even look back at the retro days with remakes to make us go retro crazy. I'm proud to be a part of the Indie and Retro scene, I highly respect all the effort the developers put into their games and I hope they give us even more chance to sample so much of their amazing talent.
Oh I could go on and on but now it's time for that special give away, Indie Retro News is giving away a full bundle of a ton of games from the Groupee's Be Mine Anniversary and what's more because Indie Retro News cares. A lot of our hard earned dosh has gone towards charity not just the developers!
