Every week Steam offer their gamers special discounts and sales. This "spooky" season, they are treating us to discounts on dozens of scare-themed games and DLC, up to 80% savings!
There are plenty of indie, retro, and retro-inspired games up for grabs, and here are some of my personal recommendations...
Fans of the Castlevania franchise can now bag themselves the Ultimate Edition of Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow which combines the original game with the two DLCs that contain many in-jokes and hidden gems for established fans. The final Castlevania game, the sequel to this one, is due for release very soon, so get up-to-date!
- Several Devil May Cry games from the franchise are reduced, including the 'DMC' revamp release from last year.
- Fans of Dungeon Keeper may enjoy Dungeons and its sequel Dungeons: The Dark Lord, that were clearly inspired by the 90s classic from Bullfrog Studios.
- The long-awaited and long-overdue sequel to American McGee's Alice, Alice: Madness Returns is up for a heavy discount, at only £3.74!
- Sid Meier's Pirates, an absolute classic, is now £1.49.
- An indie title simply titled 'Home' is only 49p and features retro-graphics, a spooky atmosphere and a good plot, coming highly recommended by many critics and fans alike.
- Alien Breed: Trilogy, the revamp of the classic 90s top-down shooter is £3.39, that is £1.13 per game!
- Dead Pixels, a zombie-shooting, retro-inspired, absolutely hilarious indie gem that I personally adore, for only 67p. Well worth the hours of fun you will have.
- By far the biggest highlight for me personally though is the indie produced Cthulhu Saves the World & Breath of Death VII Double Pack, combining two retro-inspired, scare-themed RPGs in one amazing price for just 67p!
