Commando Arcade released for C64!


It's time to rejoice all you C64 owners as Commando Arcade has just been released by Nostalgia for C64 based hardware and emulators. Unlike the original retro release this up to date version is more like the Arcade and features more levels, new level features, new graphics, a new scroller and much much more. This is by far the best 8 bit version now available of Commando which is a run and gun, shoot em up style arcade game that was originally ported in 1985 to multiple early systems including the C64.

Gameplay Story :

You take the role of a soldier named Super Joe who on his own, has to fight his way through wave after wave of enemy units. As each level is succeeded, it becomes ever harder with more enemies and more bullets flying about the place

  • New Barracks, Hangar, Chopper, Level transition, etc. graphics

  • New glitch-free Sprite multiplexer
  • New Scroller
  • Chopper that drops you onto the battle field and picks you up

  • Two new Sound modes with new SFX and new tunes by 6R6
  • Loading screen (by STE'86) and Loading tune (by 6R6) added
  • Pause added with Quit option
  • Easyflash version with High Score saver to flash and backup to disk
  • Universal File version that should work on any device
  • IFFL version with REU support
  • PAL and NTSC supported
