The Gravedigger gave me the heads up in my email today to check out his latest action packed retro
inspired first person shooter called Red Olympus - A CGA Death Rampage. Honouring those classic first person shooters such as Wolfenstein, Red Olympus has a great visual style with chiptune music in a mission to find and kill Ovsky, a russian criminal leader who turned the south of The City into his own domain.
Red Olympus is a great game indeed and you can really tell the developer has gone at great lengths to make it look like a classic CGA game, but inspired by those first person shooters with tight corridors, different weaponry, multiple deadly enemies and action packed game play. It may not feature top end graphics but with Red Olympus it isn't needed, it's good as is. What even appealed was the character avatar screen, the more damage he sustains the faster he turns into a skeleton and your death!
Even if this is our recommended game of the day, it is still in an early stage of development and when finished will give you the choice of four characters and many more features yet to be announced.
So give it a go, let us know what you think!
