The American movie industry certainly knows how to entice the retro gamer, what with major characters such as Bowser and the Zombie showing up in Disney's Wreck-It Ralph! But unlike that movie, the recently announced 'Pixels' is going one step further. Starring Adam Sandler, and directed by the same creator from Home Alone 'Chris Columbus', this movie tells the story of a bunch of aliens who see's our NASA's human capsule with games contained within as a declaration of war.
But with the war comes video games, and thanks to Adam Sandler ( A video game expert ) it's is his duty to defend the Earth and defeat those nasty Aliens (or rather retro gaming characters). A real oddball movie, as CGI characters such as Donkey Kong and Pacman are on the offensive against real live action humans. Certainly an interesting movie to keep an eye on, but time will tell if the viewers find it a top quality hit or a complete flop.
Pixels will arrive in the UK on August 12th.
