Cosmic Prison Commando - HQ Amstrad CPC style game in development!

Over 4 years ago Carnivac first mentioned his Amstrad CPC styled shooter 'Cosmic Prison Commando' to the retro gaming community for the PC. Yet it wasn't until much later (2014?) that Carnivac decided to overhaul his game and turn it into a much more impressive looking title that is still in development even today. Classed as a flick-screen platformer with shooting, punching and puzzles involved. Cosmic Prison Commando was originally developed very much like Turrican but has evolved over the years into less of a Turrican-lite and more a mixture of a lot of his favourite games such as SwitchBlade, Ratchet & Clank and others.

The game will also feature scan lines, Mode 0 160x240 resolution while the PC version can be scaled from that into multiples of 320x240, with further options such as stretching yet to be decided. But for those of you with a real Amstrad CPC and want to play this game on original hardware, Cosmic Prison Commando will be developed on PC first and then all resources and notes and anything else will be released to CPC programmers later so they can port it to true CPC hardware such as the 128k.

As of yet we don't have a release date it could be this year or it could be next, but so far the game is looking very good indeed. Certainly our site doesn't give these screenshots justice as higher quality screenshots can be found on the forums. Please also note some screens may stay in the final version while others could well be just place holders especially the Dizzy one.

Certainly impressive in the detail department and if Cosmic can be converted fully to a CPC title it will be even more so. But if you want to follow the development cycle and see how far the game is progressing, visit the forum HERE.
