ZX Spectrum Visual Compendium book launches its Kickstarter

Fantastic news for every retro gamer across the globe, especially anyone that has owned a ZX Spectrum and as hinted in our review of the Amiga visual compendium, today saw the launch of the Bitmap Books Sinclair ZX Spectrum: a visual compendium on kickstarter. The campaign went live at 7 a.m. and in just 3 hours is already nearly fully funded!

As we have seen with the first 2 of these visual compendiums the print quality and the work and love that goes into these books is nothing short of spectacular, and there is no reason this one will be any different. So if you're a lover of all things Spectrum, then this is the book you've been looking for. As with the Amiga and C64 books there are stretch goals for added bundle contents and this campaign is no different. The highlights have to be the Allister Brimble 'The Spectrum Works' CD and a polystyrene capsule case reminiscent of the original ZX Spectrum packaging.

UPDATE - Since this article has gone live, the Kickstarter is now a success raising £21,284
pledged of £20,000 goal so far! Mighty impressive on the first day but it comes as no surprise when it's from the legend that is Sam Dyer
