Space Crusade - Classic Amiga turn based action for the PC
The Company.PL who are well known for re-releasing Amiga games playable on your PC have now moved towards another classic in the form of 'Space Crusade, which is a turn based 1993 action game originally developed by Gremlin that is also based on the same tabletop game from Games Workshop. In Space Crusade you the player take control of a Space marine squad that must fight it out against different enemies which switches from a top down view to a pseudo-3D screen.
With each chosen mission marines must be equipped, orders given and your Commander protected at all times. As with each rank upgrade, your commander can give more orders and also carry more equipment, such as extra firepower! Certainly a fun game for the Amiga as not only is it a challenge, it also has a lot of depth. But do note though that Space Hulk by EA which was also based on a Games Workshop tabletop game, was much much better as it featured not just top down movement, but a rather scary first person viewpoint with aliens slashing at you from all angles! But if you want Space Crusade it's available to download for free today!
