After our recent feature of Ste86's loader screen remake of the incredible Amstrad CPC shooter ' Ikari Warriors ', another designer by the name of Darkgate has stepped forward to remake the title screen for SNK Corporation's Ikari sequel ' Victory Road : The Pathway To Fear '. First released in 1988 for the Amiga, Apple II, Arcade, Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, NES, PC Booter and ZX Spectrum, unlike the prequel Ikari Warriors, Victory Road features rock headed beasts, green men and other such strange creatures with lots of blasting action.

Although the creator has put a lot of effort into the loader screen remake but with IMAGINE and SNK being absent, you can certainly see the difference between the old version and the new. But there is also a big design difference between Ste's work, and this one done by Darkgate. Plus there is also a negative side to this new image so far, as according to the current discussion there have been problems porting it over to a real game rather than just a single image. As such so far the only version available is a tape based .CDT file, with no disk yet to be seen.
If you want to try it out for yourself using JavaCPC or have the ability to load CDT files on a real Amstrad, use the download link below.
