Rise of the Robots : Special Edition - Retro beat em up enhanced for the Amiga CD32
Now here's a game I remember and not for the right reasons either, ' Rise of the Robots '; a fighting game by Mirage Studios / Time Warner Interactive released in 1994. Ask anyone today what they thought of the game and most likely they will tell you, to throw it away. Yes someone did actually say that to me. It was supposed to be a top quality fighting release with Robots battling it out, but just as the wiki says ' On release it became notorious in the video gaming industry for a myriad of crippling gameplay problems. Today it is generally considered one of the least successful and most critically reviled fighting games of its time. So what if I said to you Earok has released the ' Rise of the Robots : Special Edition ' which has given the original game a much needed overhaul, would you be interested? Well then read on!
Even though this game was released for the 3DO, Mega Drive/Genesis, SNES, Amiga, Amiga CD32, Arcade, CD-i, DOS and Sega Game Gear. This special edition adds new features which may persuade gamers to come back to the game and actually enjoy it. Features such as being able to play as the supervisor, a new enemy red cyborg, new gameplay improvements, a new Arcade CDXL intro and enhanced backgrounds. So it may be the best versions of Rise of the Robots yet, but with such bad memories set in the minds of many, that may be a tall order.
So if you have an Amiga CD32 ( Lucky you ), download the game below and give us your thoughts, we'd love to know what you think of this ' Special Edition '. For further information about this release, make sure to check out the source link.
