In 1982 Gottlieb released a very famous game that had an orange character with a long snout as a nose, it just had to be the isometric arcade game with puzzle elements of ' Q*Bert '. It was so popular in fact it appeared on many systems such as the Atari 2600 and the C64 with a cameo appearance in Wreck-It Ralph. But today's news thanks to a heads up by retrogamingmagazine, is this game has an unofficial sequel and is available as a very early work in progress demo for the Sega Genesis.
Just as the original game but with new stages and 4 kinds of enemies, Q*Bert is a 2D action game that uses "isometric" graphics to create a pseudo-3D effect, and serves as a precursor to the isometric platformer genre. The objective is to change the color of every cube in a pyramid by making the on-screen character hop on top of the cube while avoiding obstacles and enemies. So if you remember this game and want to see what an unofficial sequel would look like, give the game a go and give us your feedback in comments.
