Before I even had the chance to play this C64 release by Oliver Orosz, what caught my eye was the attention to detail in both the landscape and the character in the supplied screenshot via the CSDb website. As such I rushed off to download the seuck game called ' JANI ' and was ready for what I would hope would be an enjoyable game that wasn't all about the image in front of me. Thankfully I wasn't let down.
As the name implies *SEUCK*, this is a top scrolling shooter whereby you play as a guy wondering about killing enemies, while also avoiding nasty traps such as spikes. But what makes this game a winner in my book, isn't just the comic style graphics, but it's the way the game plays as if it's trying to be a Commando, but without the soldiers and incredible music. I also like the fact that the enemies aren't just static singled coloured entities, but change in both design, their movement patterns and how they shoot. For example one enemy may fire downwards, another may shoot towards the sides.
It really is a nice game with lovely graphics and attention to detail, but be warned the further you move through the levels the harder it gets, thankfully a trainer was supplied by S.E.U.C.K. Trainers United. So give it a go today and hope the music gets added later on!
