Oh what a great start to Monday especially for ZX Spectrum owners, as Alessandro Grussu has released his big action platform game of ' Seto Taisho VS Yokai ' for the ZX 128K, which comes in multiple formats. Featuring three levels over 12 screens, 9 enemy types and bosses, different background music for each level, and a new turbo loading scheme. You play as Seto Taisho and must defeat the army of the Yokai, unleashed upon the town by Seto himself, after messing around with the Magic Arts to recruit an army!
For what it's worth, Seto Taisho VS Yokai is a very enjoyable game to play with lovely music being played throughout, but don't expect it to be an easy ride. You'll face many challenges in the game, from fast moving enemies, to different enemy moving patterns and long drop falls if you're not careful. And in regards to the enemies, here's a tip, try keep your finger on the fire button as the hit detection can be a bit iffy and doesn't always work as expected.
Other than that though, the game is very appealing to the eye, with very nice details across the range , from the landscapes, background, buildings and platforms, to the UI which shows your lives and current time limit to kill all the baddies on the screen. So if you've got some free time this week and have a ZX Spectrum 128K or an emulator, give Seto a go, I think you might enjoy it!
