What a fantastic news story to end the week as we have just been told through our Commodore Amiga Facebook group, that the very well known platformer of 'Great Giana Sisters', from 1987, is getting a slight overhaul for the Amiga and will be called ' Giana Sisters: Special Edition '.Many of you already know of this game by now especially Amiga and C64 owners but this game has huge similarities to Super Mario and as such way back in the 80's also had an alleged lawsuit case against them from Nintendo. So don't be too surprised to find an original game selling at a high price on Ebay, if you have one in your collection it could almost be worth a second hand car. (Read on for what's new! )
Now getting back on topic, this special edition is currently being worked on by Earok and will feature all new graphics from the DS version except for the title screen which is being borrowed from a Deviantart artist. Furthermore Earok is planning to release an Amiga CD32 version, which will include a CDXL intro and maybe some other goodies. As of yet we don't have a release date, but when it comes to everything that Earok puts out, I'm going to remain positive for a very good release.
