This day just gets better and better as we have just been informed by our good friend Retro Nerd, of a famous shoot 'em up by Konami that is being ported over to the Sega Genesis by Nendo16. That game is part of the Gradius series as ' Gradius II ', which originally appeared as a horizontal-scrolling shooter for the arcades in Japan in 1988, with later developments for the PC-Engine and Sharp X68000. Although it did also appear on the Playstation and Sega Saturn it has never appeared on the Sega Genesis, at least until now!
So far from what we have seen on the development scale, it is looking mighty impressive and very close to what the game may have looked like if it had been officially released by Konami themselves. The detailed backgrounds, the enemy waves, sound effects and music, sound very impressive and I for one cannot wait until the game sees the light of day, which may be this year. But as you can probably tell from the second video there is still much work to be done.
At least Sega Genesis owners or those of you that use Emulators will be happy!
