Legend of Xenia - Charming little free Zelda style game
A bit of a late one this for a gaming article, but as it is Zelda inspired, I see no reason not to give it the attention it deserves. The game I'm going to talk about is ' Legend of Xenia ' developed by Baku for the #LOWREZJAM 2016. Which as you guessed it, is a retro-inspired game but with an open-world and game play style similar to Zelda, but with a tiny resolution of just 64x64 pixels. Oh and yes, it is also completely free, even if it is a very small game.
In this tiny pixelated game that may need the odd squint, you take control of a young girl who wakes up on an island, but with no memories of her past or how she got there. You will come across different characters to talk to, explore different areas, and sword slash your way through to an ending of only a 20min or so game! It's a shame the game is rather small, but it looks lovely, plays rather nice and I hope the developer turns it into a fully fledged title.
