After all these MSX and MSX 2 games we've been mentioning, it's probably about time I try to get hold of an original system, but until that time lets give a shout out to Kai Magazine's renovated RPG, ' Rune Monster ', which is due for release 18th June. The original game Rune Master was actually released in the early 90's by Compile and looked very much like an old skool NES game, except in this one, you rolled the dice.
According to the write up on the rather grand msx.org, Rune Monster is being developed by Ka Magazine in cooperation with the musician John Hassink. It will be a completely renovated game with a brand new story, curious characters, 256 color graphics and improved sound. As for the specifications, you'll need an MSX2 with 64K Ram, and it has support for MSX-Music & MSX-Audio and Moonsound, turbo mode in Panasonic MSX2+ computers, 1-4 players, and save support on the cartridge.
So how do you go about getting this rather lovely looking RPG with dice, you'll have to wait until its release on 18th June during the 49th Barcelona MSX meeting, and pre-orders can be made through the email which will be provided below. The first 50 units will get a discount, so the final price of this first batch would be 39€ and 42€ for the next ones.
