Tourmaline - A new ZX Spectrum homebrew with an upbeat soundtrack!

ZX Spectrum owners, emulator users and readers of Indie Retro News, have I got an awesome homebrew game to show you today, that was only released just recently! The game I'm going to shout about is, Tourmaline ' by Retro Souls Team; a very enjoyable arcade/puzzle game with lovely ZX Spectrum detail, a cool soundtrack, addictive gameplay and if you remember the game well, a hint of Boulder Dash!

The game play is very simple to understand in Tourmaline, move your little animated guy around the game screen digging his way through, grab all the Diamonds and the level is complete. But what makes this game different from the Boulder Dash squashing boulders, isn't the lovely graphics with bubbling lava surrounding the screen, but the fact that your guy has bombs! Oh yes, take note Bomberman, this guy can use bombs to not only blow up enemies but also boulders if they get in your way.

Overall 'Tourmaline' is addictive as hell on the ZX Spectrum, it is so easy to play but challenging enough to keep you coming back for more, especially as one wrong mistake could end up with you being squashed flat, or in the case of what I did, place a bomb right next to you, and you blow up. I could go on and on about how good this game is, it is the sort of game that you will keep coming back to again and again. Just make sure to listen to that soundtrack, it's top class!
