In the early 90's I was to play one of the best Amiga strategy games of all time with buildings to place, resources to mine and Alien races to defeat. That game was none other than the Amiga sci-fi planetary classic ' Utopia : The Creation of a Nation ', published by Gremlin Interactive. However what many people didn't know was that same game was later succeeded by K240, but instead, had you colonising an asteroid belt and defending it with powerful weaponry. And on that little bit of history lesson for you, welcome to ' Sector 53 ' developed by hollettgaming, which is coming to PC(?) and is inspired by K240!
Amiga : K240
Although the game looks to be far from finished, with the developers noting it is in very early stages. Sector 53 will be similar to K240 and also the PC successor 'Fragile Allegiance ' in that you need to mine ore rich asteroids in a hostile sector of space, where competition for resources is fierce. So expect defence building, missile firing and ship to ship battles, to defend not just your architecture filled asteroids, but also your gathered resources.
So far there isn't really much else to go on, as from what can be seen it almost looks as if it's a pre-alpha or early prototype. Still if it does end up anything like K240, it could be good game!
