It seems the resourcefulness of the Amiga community never fails to rear its head... Yes, someone via the Commodore Amiga Facebook group has modded a Gotek floppy emulator to be remote controlled by an android phone! What does this mean? Read on to find out.
Youtube user Gábor Csikós has uploaded a pair of videos of his work in progress pairing of a wifi module (looks like an ESP8266) and an android control app to his gotek drive to offer a full remote control solution. In the video you can clearly see him selecting file slots on the app, with the gotek drive following suit and selecting the desired slot.
The biggest implication of this is the ability to truly stealth a gotek installation, preventing unsavoury and vehemently debated case modification (there are regular massive flame wars on this subject in the Commodore Amiga facebook groups!)

Once again the resourcefulness of Amiga owners never ceases to amaze me!
