Here on Indie Retro News we've always had a soft spot for the Core Design and published by Firebird in 1989 game 'Rick Dangerous'. It is a very challenging action platformer that made you feel like an Indiana Jones character traversing dangerous locations such as caves and temples, avoiding the bad guys and making sure you didn't get hurt by deadly spikes and rolling boulders. It was such a well known game it appeared on the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and DOS but there was a system it didn't appear on, and that was the CBS Colecovision, at least until now.
Coming in as a complete surprise to myself, this month at the RGC 2016 event, a Rick Dangerous port known as ' Risky Rick ' was shown working on the CBS Colecovision developed by Easter Egg. This port is already at 95% completion as a 32K ROM, and features smooth scrolling, neat retro graphics and the best feature of all. the original sound effect " Waaaaaaaaaaaaa " as you die ;).
So far there hasn't been any mention of a release date, but from what we have seen so far, it may well be released before the end of this year.
