Back in the '80s there were a plethora of Japanese anime kids TV shows translated for English markets and while there's still one knocking around my head that I can't for the life of me remember the name of, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs comes awfully close in look and feel... or maybe it's because they all did! Back in October '15, there was a successful kickstarter campaign to bring this IP to modern gaming platforms (as well as PC Engine/TG-16 and Dreamcast) and finally Team Saber Rider are getting close to delivering, with a drive to get the game greenlit on Steam.
Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs is a run and gun side scrolling shooter featuring the main characters of the series with some absolutely luscious 2D art visuals. Furthermore it will feature 12 different themed missions, vehicles, different weapons, intense mecha battles, a game soundtrack based on Dale Schacker's original series, real arcade resolutions of 320(426)x240, retro filters such as CRT and Scanlines and much more to make this a worthy looking game for a Steam Greenlight thumbs up.
However there is so much detail to check out rather than reproduce it all here, so have a gander at the Steam greenlight page for details at their Steam Greenlight page
