There's one type of genre that I loved playing in the arcades and more so on my home console, and that is the shoot em up genre! You know the type, enemy waves coming at you at all sides, your ship blasting across the landscape with adrenaline flowing as you try to survive and wipe them out. Well there's one such game that I have fond memories of and that was Namco's 1982 vertical scrolling arcade shoot em up game Xevious, which this latest game ΧΙ∧∃Χ (Zevimodoki) by GW's Workshop is actually based on for the MSX.
As a heads up by retrogaming homebrew, ΧΙ∧∃Χ (Zevimodoki) is a brand new entry in the MSX Freestyle category of MSXdev’17. Just as in Xevious, this game features multiple enemy types that need to be destroyed, moving landscapes in a vertical scrolling viewpoint, great music and top quality gameplay that will surprise you this was not a commercial release.
