Jet Set 40-40 - Only 40 rooms compared to the classic, but it comes with a unique challenge!
Now here's a game I think most of our readers would have played or heard of throughout the years, is Jet Set Willy. A platform game originally written by Matthew Smith and published by Software Projects for many home computers such as the ZX Spectrum in 1984. It star'd none other than Miner Willy who is tasked by the housekeeper Maria with the cleaning up of items left around the house after a big party.
So now that little history lesson is out the way, lets change the original game 'Jet Set Willy' with a few interesting and unique features that the team Andy Ford, Ian Rushforth and Daniel Gromann have called Jet Set 40-40. Now in the original game you had to explore 61 rooms to collect a bunch of items, while avoiding enemies to finally appease the housekeeper Maria, who was less than satisfied with the mess left behind. In this version however the number of rooms has been reduced to 40 and there is only one item per room....
Furthermore the player not only has a choice of rooms to start off in, but the player has to collect four complete sets of items that will re-appear with ever more difficult challenges such as more enemies, when each consecutive set of items have been collected. So basically if you think the first set of item collection is a breeze to complete, you'll be persuaded otherwise when you've got to get the next set. Certainly a great idea behind a classic game, and if you love a bit of the classic willy *ahem* you should like this redesign!
