Time Pilot - 1980's Arcade perfect port released for the Atari XL/XE

The Atari 8-bit homebrew scene has really gone all out this week, especially with TRAIN, Minotaur 16k and HeliCommander. But now it looks as if a new top dog has appeared to push them aside, as earlier today we were informed by both Jarosław Padula and Zbigniew 'Saberman' Zielinski of the release of an Arcade perfect port of Time Pilot, which according to the team behind the port is one of the best arcade games of all time.

The original and great Arcade game of Time Pilot was released in 1982 by Konami and designed by Yoshiki Okamoto as a multi-directional scrolling shooter arcade game based around a theme of time travel. As such you spent most of your time flying around the skies blasting other planes and objects through the ages with maximum effect... Or as one person puts it " you are a time traveller changing the outcome of WWI, WWII, Vietnam, present day (1982), and the war against HAL. "

In regards to the Arcade port however, it was designed from scratch by a team of people with a custom engine, custom logic etc as a target for the Atari 8 bit computer with 64K memory. Furthermore the game includes all 5 levels (space level graphic included) and additional game mode - THE SWARM for Atari with Rapidus expansion. So basically if you've got any Atari XL/XE machine (PAL/NTSC) you'll be right at home with this fantastic Arcade port release!
