K C Munchkin - Philips videopac / Odessey2 game ported to the Amiga

We don't often get very old retro games ported to the Amiga, so to see the 1981 Philips videopac / Odessey2 game of K C Munchkin actually appear on the Amiga as a port by Gary James and PacManRed, I was pleasantly surprised. Now unlike the original game however this one that was released exclusively for the Amigathon 2018, has different mazes and darkness as options, as well as being able to press space to switch the graphics between the Amiga port and original during game play.

K C Munkin may come across like Pac-Man but the game does have noticeable differences to make it stand out. There are only 12 munchie pills in each maze that do move with an increase of speed when each one is eaten, super pills flash and change colour, enemies run away from you, the center box exit rotates but allows the player to enter and if powered up can consume new monsters the moment they regenerate, AND the enemies (munchers) look more like Aliens rather than ghosts.

  1. The original KC Munchkin had multiple mazes, a random changing maze, and invisible maze modes. The main difference seems to be the updated graphics.
