Take a pinch of Sid Meier's Pirates, add in some multiplayer deathmath action, and release it for the Atari XL/XE and you'll probably end up with this game, Sails of Doom. A new homebrew game by Antonin Holi, whereby sailing your mighty frigate you need to traverse each map screen and destroy up to 8 players using skills you've learned sailing the high seas.
It's not often we feature retrotastic multiplayer games nor do we feature many games that take us back to the glory days of Pirates! But it looks as if Sails of Doom does just that. It has a chippy soundtrack by Roger, simplistic but easy on the eye graphics, up to 8 players can fight it out using multi joy, and this game almost makes you feel like you're actually sailing a mighty frigate full of armed cannons ready to be fired!
