Excalibur: Sword of Kings - Text based adventure game remade and ready to be played online!
Throughout the last few years we've featured a number of text based adventures, games such as The Pawn Remastered, The Marlo Files Remastered Edition, and Goblin Towers to name but a few. But there's another game that might be worth a look on this lovely Tuesday afternoon, and that's Adventuron's online remake of a text based game called ' Excalibur: Sword of Kings '.
Thanks to a heads up by Chris in our inbox, he has told us Excalibur: Sword of Kings is a remake of the ZX Spectrum original version (from 1987) written by Ian Smith, and the graphic legend that is Shaun McClure (in his early years). He goes on to say this is a remake of one of his favourite but short childhood adventure games, and is a bright and vibrant game featuring unique screens, as a remake made with the soon to be released (version 1.0.0) of Adventuron; a text adventure authoring system.
1) The game features an interactive tutorial for beginners to text adventure games which I hope will be a useful resource for anyone wanted to teach their children the genre.
2 ) This release is 100% authorised. Please be sure not to remake any games for which you have not secured the rights.
3) Excalibur is an old-school text adventure, with easy difficulty. This game incorporates an interactive tutorial into the first half of the (very short) game.
