For those of you looking for some great MSX 2 news, then look no further! As just moments ago we were contacted by one of our friends in the MSX community of a brand new game coming to the MSX 2 called ' The Awakening '. This early tease showing multiple screens worth of top down combat in a fantasy setting. Is from a game that is soon to be released within a few months for the MSX 2 with 128KB ram, and will be developed by Oniric Factor, developer of Lost Wind, Spring Warrior and Dribol.
You control the "Big Bad Wolf" Soldier in this new adventure, pulverizing mutants with a shotgun and exploring the huge map of more than 200 screens. Pay attention to the alarms of the Geiger counter and move fast, most areas are toxic due to radiation. Your mission is to find the precise terminals to activate the "Icarus protocol".
According to MSX.org who announced the game originally, The Awakening will be released as a 2Mb cartridge including artwork and a manual for 33,- euros, ex shipping. They also go on to say, the team needs to know the exact number of copies that must be produced to place the order to their suppliers, so they have decided to open a list of orders to make a joint order of materials which can be registered as interest at the pre-ordering link below.
