Rockball wasn't the only game lost into the outter regions of space and found tumbling back to Earth, as thanks to a heads up from a good friend of ours, we've been told that Level 9 Software's BBC Micro/Master version of ' Knight Orc ', has been recovered and released upon the retro community! This game according to the stardot forums may have been in the possession of the Centre from Computing History, and was successfully archived thanks to a collective effort from Stardot members at this weekend's ABug meetup in Cambridge.
Knight Orc is a standard text adventure game, with limited graphics on some platforms by Level 9 released in 1987. It originally came with a short novella by Peter McBride ("The Sign of the Orc") explaining the background to the story and the game was released on many different platforms including the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, ZX Spectrum, Macintosh, and MSX, but sadly was never released on the BBC Micro until now!
