During the early part of 2016, it was the 25th Anniversary of DMA Design's ' Lemmings '. A game published by Psygnosis way back in the early 90's for the Amiga, Atari ST and PC and regarded by many as one of the greatest games ever and featured many blue, green haired Lemmings that could be blown up, ripped apart and dropped from the highest of points before they even hope to reach that exit. So why is this great game getting a mention? Well as of this month you can play a preview of an unreleased version of Lemmings, which has been made available for the Commodore plus/4 that sadly will never be finished.
Thanks to a heads up from Saberman and the original source of the news being GTW, we have found out that way back in the 90's Tamás Sasvári (code) and Csaba Kémeri (graphics) were hopeful to bring Lemmings to the Plus/4 with all the gameplay intact putting together a solid unofficial conversion within the limits of the Plus/4. Sadly however, although you can play an early preview which was believed to be showcased at the 1993 Debrecen party and then 4ever03 party in Szeged on a projector screen. The game was never finished as a buffering system for the bitmapped caused the creator to hit memory issues which he couldn’t resolve and all development was halted... And that's pretty much a short snippet of the details but for further information visit the links below.
