We certainly get a lot of Shoot em ups for the C64, I mean seriously how many SEUCK games have we posted on Indie Retro News? Yes a lot! Well here's another Shoot em up many 80's Arcade gamers will remember, is Space Firebird; or as the developer puts it on the main website, a Space Firebird (1980) inspired shoot em up for the C64 called 'Space Firehawk'.
Developed by Karsten Senkel, you must battle waves of enemies and the more enemies you destroy the higher your score. Certain enemies give more points such as the emperor giving you 500 and the Torcher 750 points. The game features 12 different enemy types, asteroid fields, boss battles, power ups, ship and weapon upgrades, a balanced difficulty curve, and developed for PAL systems but will also run (a little faster) on NTSC
