We've featured a number of great match 3 games on Indie Retro News, games such as The Return of Traxtor and Vegetables Deluxe to name but a few. But now after searching the very depths of the Amstrad world, we've come across a brand new WIP game for the Amstrad called 'GEM JAM'; a freely playable Bejeweled/CandyCrush Clone that was developed entirely through Lockdown returning to the CPC after nearly 30 years of absence.
GEM JAM developed by Legosoft, is an addictive Match 3 puzzle game whereby the objective in the game is to basically to swap adjacent shaped gems to form lines of three or more in a row, with each successful swap giving you an ever higher score. The game isn't complete however, as although it's still an enjoyable game, the developer states it is still a work in progress (source code available), as some stuff is still missing such as no saving hiscores, and no music. Still it certainly looks like an enjoyable early development game that's for sure!
