Galaga has appeared on Indie Retro News a few times over the years, especially as it is one particular Arcade classic that homebrew developers love making clones of with special effects and bonus power ups added. Well here we are with another Galaga feature, but unlike the excellent Arcade port released by Arlasoft not long ago, this one is called Petaxian; a game which is basically Galaga and Galaxian but based on PETSCII graphics developed by Borgar.
Galaga was developed and published by Namco Japan and by Midway in North America in 1981 as the sequel to the 1979 game Galaxian. The game puts you in control of a mighty spaceship that must destroy waves of enemy formations that are out to destroy or capture you. As for the second preview linked below, rest assured that if you have a C64 and want to see what the game might look like based on PETSCII graphics, then you might enjoy this clone that's being developed by Borgar.
