While we have always used Disqus for our readers to be able to comment and react, because of their new pricing system and the way they provide ads, for the time being it has been removed. IndieRetroNews will never have Ads on the website ( It was showing softcore porn ), nor will we pay £100 a month for the level of service that is needed. It's pretty disgusting! - So for the time being until we find a better and free commenting service, please use the temporary one provided. Thank you.
Testing!
ReplyDeleteI'm always surprised by your dedication to excellence here! Please, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Seems to be working fine with just ordinary comments :D - Please can comment without even registering. However I've had to leave moderation on - The Spam is horrendous!
DeleteFinally that annoying Disqus is gone. Keep the good work, Neil!
DeleteRetro Fist Bump!
DeleteLooking good so far!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Indie Retro News
ReplyDeleteThis seems to work just fine
ReplyDeleteBravo. I just hope you won't be attacked by spammers very soon via this temporary solution. Keep up good work!
ReplyDeleteEven with Disqus in place previously, we got a lot of spam. Thankfully there is moderation in place to make sure nothing gets posted without my approval :D
DeleteFor me Disqus was always a barrier to comment at all. I like this.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! If it becomes popular I'll leave it as it is :)
DeleteExactly
DeletePretty nice, actually!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Disqus seems to be embarrasing glitchy now. I've even been banned when trying to access not even posting a single word! Love the way you're doing things right, this is a labour of love. Keep up the good work, Indie Retro News is my daily coffee break morning companion since long time ago!
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Zeit! Sorry you've had issues with Disqus in the past, hopefully this works out well in the long run
DeleteWorking well here by the looks of it. Great site, too; invaluable.
ReplyDeleteLiqMatrix says: Good for you! Keeping it quality.
ReplyDeleteFinally I can comment something. Disqus(ting) doesn't like Brave as browser.
ReplyDeleteYeah, quality over quantity, don't give in to those extortionists!
I'm using Brave too :( And yes I've noticed that Disqus doesn't even load sometimes :(. Happy so many can finally comment! :D
DeleteThat explains why they wouldn't show up at work sometimes. I think this is better, though watch out for bots...
ReplyDeleteCool but how do we do likes and such?
ReplyDeleteHi Rob, sadly that was also part of Disqus.. I'm waiting for the weather to cool down, it's 39C here before looking into adding a different method of reactions :D Don't worry I'm sure I'll think of something :D
DeleteReactions are back! :D
DeleteAce. :)
DeleteDisqus was always a barrier for me to leave any comment .. don't change back
ReplyDeleteDon't mind me, just testing Blogger :)
ReplyDeleteAnnoyingly I have to keep redoing reCAPTCHA
DeleteDisqusting!
ReplyDeleteHeideldee doodleldee neighbour. :3 Okay, I'm ready for the comments.
ReplyDeleteReactions are back! :D
ReplyDeleteYep, this is much better. And I like the reactions. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteTest 1 2 3 Test 1 2 3 Sound! Sound!
ReplyDeleteIt works!
Hello. (World).
ReplyDeleteGreat you aren`t blindly following paydemands and forced low quality adds. Respect!
ReplyDeleteIs it me or the posts' dates and time stamps missing in the home pages' posts?
ReplyDeleteAll fixed this morning :) - thanks for the heads up
DeleteThanks. :)
