While many of you have already played Project R3D's River Raid style game of ' Bridge Strike ', you might also interested to know that as of today, Matze1887 has released an update to his previously released River Raid clone of ' RiverRaid Reloaded ' for the Commodore Amiga. Now if you've not heard of this classic game before, that's because it was originally released in 1982 for the Atari 2600, and then ported over to many different systems such as the C64 and ZX Spectrum as a game viewed from a top-down perspective, flying a fighter jet over the River of No Return in a raid behind enemy lines.
RiverRaid Reloaded was first released as a clone of River Raid back in 2019, as a small 128kb file that could be be loaded up on any Amiga, including an Amiga 500 and Amiga 1200. Although we are not sure of what's changed in 1.1, the game was created by a team of people such as 'w.o.t.w.' for the music, 'musashi9' for the titlelogo and 'nobody' who created the drawing tiles. So yes if you enjoyed River Raid back in the day, it might be worth loading up this latest updated release from Matze1887.
Great looking version, but as usual, I suck at the game. Also, like that Mario sound every time you take out a bridge. Ha. Only thing I would add is a plane animation when you are turning right or left so it looks like the plane is tilting (roll animation). Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThere was a remake a few years back which was infinitely superior to this version.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous are you referring to Bridge Strike? If so, I wouldn't say that game was infinitely superior to River Raid Reloaded, don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it isn't freeware and RRR is just as enjoyable.
