Remember some time back when we said that the famous game and movie of 'RoboCop' was coming to the Amiga as a complete AGA rework, developed in 68k ASM for those of you who felt the original 1989 Ocean/Data East game was rather lacking. Well here's some good news for you all! As just recently thanks to a heads up via Per Ola Eriksson, Daniel Allsopp who is behind this AGA rework, has posted a brand new work in progress video showing how far the game has come since its first announcement all those months ago.
While the coder has said before that people shouldn't expect the level of progress compared to the developer experience of mcgeezer, jotd etc. He is still hard at work on the game and even has an intro, all arcade perfect colours, new enemies added to the windows, some new features to the map renderers, extra meat to the engine, new music from RoboCop 3 and much much more you'll just have to visit the discussion thread to see for yourselves for the upcoming release of RoboCop AGA!

Did anyone try that early executable the dev supplied on page four of the discussion thread? Is that just showing the title screen of the game? That's as far as I get in Amiga 1200 emulation. I look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteNope :( Game has come even further since then I believe
DeleteYeah, as I read through the thread I believe that was just to demo the intro and no gameplay. The graphics in that "Update #2" video look wonderful.
DeleteCan it run on my Amiga 500?
ReplyDeleteDumb question
DeleteI smell troll
DeleteWow! Looking forward to this. I really like seeing homebrew games that you can no longer buy or get a licensed copy of. These arcade classics are timeless.
DeleteThis article has a screenshot from the future! Exciting project!
