If you loved playing Sid Meier's Colonization, then it might be worth keeping an eye on Theo Theoderich's upcoming game of Settle The World. A game that isn't just inspired by the classic that is Colonization, but according to the creator who gave us the update just recently. Settle The World is in development for the Amiga BlitzBasic Jam 2022 as a turn based building and trading game with you versus another player (Single Player mode is also planned, but it will be all the more difficult because there are no trading partners - EAB).
Part 1 - is about a first look on the new main menu.
Part 2 - is about how to create a new game (in basic mode)
Part 3 - is about how to load a saved game
Part 4 - is about the reworked world map and saving the game
Part 5 - is about the first overview screens
Part 6 - is about creating a new game in expert mode
Also as noted by the video description of which we have mentioned when the game was first announced last month with an earlier gameplay video (here). You will have to build settlements, build roads, establish trade relations with your fellow player, explore the map and sometimes send soldiers to war. Make sure that your citizens are satisfied, only then you can succeed in winning the next presidential elections. The goal of the game is to stay in power as long as possible. The game is being developed for Amiga computers with at least 2 MB RAM, a fast processor and a hard disk with multplayer in mind. However the developer has given his/her reasons why this isn't a Single Player game and it isn't just because of the time limit of the Blitz Basic Jam (See here)

Looks awesome, so this is coded purely in Blitz Basic?
ReplyDeleteYes, my game is written in AmiBlitz3 (a more modern version of BlitzBasic2).
