Sometime back we mentioned the classic game of H.E.R.O, was being overhauled for the C64 as a vastly superior version of a classic game which was first released way back in the 1980's for the Atari 800/2600, 7800, ColecoVision, C64, C128 and ZX Spectrum. Sadly it looks as if that version of the game isn't going to be released any time soon (if ever), but not to be too despondent, as we've just been informed via Saberman that Oziphantom's(Protovision) has released an update to his sprite only version of H.E.R.O for the C64 called S.P.R.E.R.O.
In this game which is based on an all time classic game called H.E.R.O. You play as ' Roderrick Hero ' and must search the cave system for the miners of Mount Leone, who have been trapped deep below after a recent volcanic situation that has occurred. The game features multiple levels, different themed underground areas, dangerous enemies such as spiders, and dynamite to blow up walls to reach the miners trapped below.
The update was released almost 2 months ago a;ready. You are linking to the crack which was released today, not the original work. https://csdb.dk/release/?id=219960
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated FIXED, I've let the original heads up person know!

Thanks! Spread the word!
LOL OK, new games are always good but why...
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the point is of these clones or copycat games. H.E.R.O already exists, and it even looks the same, bringing me to the graphics - 40 years ago, this might have sufficed, but not anymore: this game looks horrible, a graphics update would have worked wonders here, missed opportunity.
