Gooninuff - A new Intellivision game with an inspiration to The Goonies goes FREE!

There's so many of us that remember The Goonies, a movie about a group of young misfits called The Goonies who discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate's long-lost treasure. Well if you too remember it and the game which appeared on the C64, Atari 8bit and Apple II in 1985, you might be interested in todays news. As thanks to Liqmatrix contacting us just recently, he has told us that the AtariAge member of Cmadruga, has made available for FREE the new Intellivision game called 'Gooninuff'; a game which is an Intellivision inspiration to that classic movie.

Although I haven't had the chance to play the game just yet (recovering from Flu), from what we can see in the footage above, Gooninuff certainly looks like a game that will appeal to many if you have an Intellivision. It has lots of well designed screens, a variety of areas, decent animation such as the waterfall, and there's plenty to do as you must avoid or punch enemies, rescue kids trapped in cages, and find the skulls to move on to other levels.

  1. It looks pretty faithful to the MSX version.

  2. Really looks amazing considering the extreme limitations of the Intellivision console. Loved mine when I was a kid. Very generous for the dev to release it for free.
