One of my Favourite Amstrad games ' Oh Mummy! ' has appeared again but not as a HD PC version, but this time the game has been remade from the Amstrad CPC over to the ZX Spectrum by Fitosoft. Oh Mummy! in my opinion was and still is one of the best games on the Amstrad from 1984 and published by none other than Amsoft, a well known publisher for the Amstrad computer. So you can see why I'm just that little bit excited to try out this version of the game thanks to a heads up by Saberman who did a gameplay video.
In this ZX Spectrum version which now features a complete graphical change including the main character and creepy Mummies. You must reveal all the treasures by using your footprints as a guide to surrounding each tomb. In order to complete the level, it is necessary to unveil the key and a tombstone, but be careful, it isn't always a treasure as sometimes another Mummy will appear, that can only be damaged by a scroll. If you touch a Mummy you will get hurt!

Much better than the original but without the catchy CPC tune is not much fun...

I'm quite confused. This came out months ago, in a version that had three difficulty settings (which didn't seem to make any difference). It's hard to tell which is more advanced - this one has a title screen, but the basic Sinclair font, whereas the older one had a nicer font but no title screen, and a nicer-looking "Press Enter for next screen" message.
Deletehello friend. You are absolutely right. I have compiled an earlier version. I didn't realise. I'll fix it and upload it to itch.io. Thanks for the note.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of having the music from the Amstrad version too? :)
DeleteI just downloaded v1.02 but I can't tell any difference from the previous version.
