Souverän Soccer - In development footy game for the Amiga gets new footage

Although I used to love playing Sensible Soccer or Kick Off 2, I've never been a fan of anything coming out of EA called Fifa. Still one game I am keen to play when it gets an eventual release, is Dän Bänän's upcoming Commodore Amiga game of 'Souverän Soccer'; a game which the developer describes as a "Super Formation Soccer (SNES) like game for unaccelerated stock Amiga 1200 / CD32 and compatible machines (Amiga AGA 020, 14 MHz, no Fast RAM, 50 fps)". In light of this news, we have a new video to show you and an update in regards to the latest developments.

Here is what Daniel Müßener(Dän Bänän) says about the game via the video above. ""Souverän Soccer" is my wip Super Formation Soccer (SNES) like game for unaccelerated stock Amiga 1200 / CD32 and compatible machines (Amiga AGA 020, 14 MHz, no Fast RAM, 50 fps). Since the Amiga37 event I mostly fixed bugs that popped up during the show. But one new feature has been added too: The crowd's grand stand has been visually improved by making the (currently) three crowd layers transparent, so that you can see through to the layer behind the other. In previous versions there was a hard vertical separation.".

Sadly that's the only news we have on the game thus far, but we are certainly looking forward to play the game when it's finished and ready to be loaded up on a Commodore Amiga!

- Thanks Per Ola Eriksson for the heads up

  1. Not too big on FIFA games either. I much prefer EA over complete garbage 2K sports games.
Baseball games have always been the greatest gems.
For whatever reason there is something special about Amiga soccer games. Probably made by real fans in Europe. There’s something authentic about them you just don’t see on other systems.
Console soccer games are just generally not that good or fun. Kunio soccer games were a blast and the exception.
