Lemmings was a game published by Psygnosis way back in the early 90's for the Amiga, Atari ST and PC and regarded by many as one of the greatest games ever, especially as it featured many blue, green haired Lemmings that could be blown up, ripped apart and dropped from the highest of points before they even hope to reach that exit. So why is that great game getting another mention on IRN? Well thanks to a heads up from an IRN reader 'Christian', we've been told TCFS together with Csabo and Unreal, have released Lemmings for the Commodore Plus/4. A version of the game that many thought would never see the light of day!
While a much bigger feature was done by GTW of the game when it was first mentioned back in September 3, 2021 as a cancelled game. Noting it was shown at the 4ever03 party in Szeged on a projector screen, and then forgotten about once more. Here is what the Plus/4 world says about this fantastic release that took us completely by surprise. "The 24th Árok Party took place in Ajka, where a record number of plus/4 sceners and productions were represented. There were entries in almost every category, at game dev compo Verona presented a very unique, very meta game called Blobfox, and master TCFS presented his long rumoured genius game Lemmings, rebuilt from scratch".

Wow, it's even better than the C64 version as this is full screen! C'mon, now do the same for the older brother!
ReplyDeleteWow, fascinating. This is badly needed on the C64 as well
ReplyDeleteAmazing job, well done to all involved. The music seems to change tempo very often, is this due to emulation?
ReplyDeleteCould be, I don't have a real Plus/4 to confirm :(
