If you're not content with all the 8bit news then how about some Amiga news instead? As we've just been told by Per Ola Eriksson through Facebook, that AMIGA FACTORY has released their RedPill based game ' El Capitan Trueno ' for the Commodore Amiga. A game that the creator says was developed using a Commodore Amiga 1200 with Blizzard 1230-IV! To coincide with this news, you can check out the latest video of the game being played below.
While a readme about the development of the game can be found via the main page below this is what was said in brief by the creator (badly translated sorry!). "I think it convenient to remember that the 2nd phase of the game was available for 8-bit versions, and that this game is a port from the PC version which only had the 1st game phase, but with graphics and improved movements and digitized sounds. For this reason, This game does not have some of the parts of the 8bit version! I also want to say that because of my experience and conversations in forums of my previous 2 games, that ALL games made using REDPILL require at least 2Mb of RAM and a CPU of 020 is required as minimum"
Extra Notes :
- The game has has been optimized as much as possible. It has been tested on several Amigas 1200 and in emulators like WinUAE and the game is pretty smooth. I hope no one feels disappointed.
"game over man!" love the Aliens homage XD
ReplyDeleteYou, you there, reading this post. By all means play this game, but do a favor to yourself and go read the wonderful, wonderful Cápitan Trueno comics! Hal Foster's ghost commands you! If dont, Miguel Bosé will haunt you by pulling your legs at midnight!
ReplyDeleteweird - looks like a mashup of castlevania, camelot warriors and impoosible mission without the charm of either.
ReplyDeleteAn Amiga needed 1200 for this..."thing"? Well, better playing the Amstrad CPC version instead or the spectrum one, believe me!!
ReplyDeleteBuen trabajo compi
ReplyDeleteGreat game, challenging but fun
ReplyDeleteThis appears to be a straight port of the CGA or EGA PC version with some additional frames of animation and some extra colors. Giving it some consideration this could almost be similar to a very early Amiga game that might run on 512kb, or even 256kb for the Amiga 1000! Except it requires 2mb and an Amiga 1200? Perhaps the devs should try out the Scorpion Engine instead... Played the Amstrad CPC version to compare and it plays better, appears more colorful and has a second stage. Not criticizing any efforts here, but not sure I would release it in it's current state. It needs a fair bit more polish. But I commend the efforts to at least improve things where they could.
ReplyDeletePlease ADF.
